From August 4 to 6, 2023, the International StreetArt Festival Wilhelmshaven took place for the 11th time in downtown Wilhelmshaven.
35 artists from all over the world were involved in the big street painting competition. The countries represented were Mexico, USA, Japan, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Bonaire, Serbia, Netherlands, France and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As usual, painting was done in the categories "Free Artists", "Copyists" and "3D Artists". The motifs were again varied, but portraits in a wide variety of styles and colors were frequently represented, including a depiction of Vincent van Gogh, two artists designed Frida Kahlo, and there was also a self-portrait by a female artist. Environmental protection was also an area addressed in many artworks, for example, a three-dimensional representation of a pile of garbage or a portrait of a boy with the caption "We did not inherit the earth from our parents, but borrowed it from our children."
Incidentally, the artist Aziz Elgart was awarded for the 10th participation in the International StreetArt Festival Wilhelmshaven. He is the third artist to receive this award after the artists Melina and Wilfried Berg, who were awarded for the 10th International StreetArt Festival.
