The International Street Art Festival in Wilhelmshaven is one of the most popular street art events in Germany and is traditionally held on the first weekend in August. From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the festival took place for the 14th time, once again bringing color, creativity, and an international flair to the city center.
Wilhelmshaven is vibrant and multicultural. But there’s one weekend each year when it’s especially so—during the International Street Art Festival. That’s when the city center transforms into a huge open-air gallery: In 2026, more than 30 artists from 13 countries traveled to the “Jade City,” turned the asphalt into a canvas, and created their works of art right before the visitors’ eyes.
Every year, the festival centers around the street art competition in the city center. With a lot of passion, talent, and chalk, the artists create impressive images that transport viewers into worlds of imagination. You can witness the creative process live on Friday and Saturday, before admiring the finished works on Sunday. They often continue to draw amazed glances and smiles from visitors long after the festival weekend has ended.
The 15th International Street Art Festival will take place from August 6 to 8, 2027.
