Wilhelmshaven is located at the end of motorway A29 and can therefore quickly and easily be reached by car or tour bus. The relatively low traffic volume on this stretch of road and the beautiful landscape to the right and left of the motorway ensure a relaxed journey.
…coming from north you take the A7 to Hamburg through the Elbe tunnel. The A1 in direction Bremen leads you over the A28/Oldenburg and finally to the A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
…coming from west Germany from the Dutch border over the Ruhrgebiet to the A1 in direction to Bremen. Then via A28/Oldenburg onto A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
…coming from east you take the A2 in the diretion of Braunschweig/Hannover. Then continue on the A1 to Bremen an A28 in the direction of Oldenburg, then on the A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
… coming from south, you take the A9 to the Nürnburg motorway junction and then drive onto the A3 towards Hannover/Hamburg. The A1 finally takes you via the A28 to Oldenburg. Later on you change to the A29/Wilhelmshaven.

This is how you reach the Tourist Information (Ebertstraße 110):
You leave the A29 at exit 3 Wilhelmshaven. Drive then along Ostfriesenstraße –Friedrich-Paffrath- Straße and turn left into Peterstraße after about 4.3 km. After 2 km you turn left at the citytheatre into Virchowstraße. After about 400 m you drive along the NorseePassage and turn right afterwards into Ebertstraße. Drive 200m straight ahead and you will find the Tourist Information on your left. You can park right in front of it.

If you travel to Wilhelmshaven by train, the route will take you via Oldenburg. All inter-city connections to Wilhelmshaven end there. Change to Nordwest-Bahn in the direction of Wilhelmshaven Hbf. The Nordwest-Bahn also runs directly from Esens, Bremen and Osnabrück to Wilhelmshaven.
