Lydia Jane Anderson believes that our passions should become our careers—not just as a pleasant pastime, but as a way of life. Based in Boston, USA, she is a stage painter, chalk artist, muralist, and creator of public artworks that transform everyday spaces into temporary worlds full of color and connection.
Chalk art brings together two of her greatest passions: creating art to share and fostering meaningful interaction. For Lydia, engaging with viewers is just as fulfilling as creating the artwork itself.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota (2019) and a certificate in theater painting from Boston University (2022). Her early experiences in theater instilled in her a deep respect for collaboration, craftsmanship, and visual storytelling. She currently works in the Boston area as a set painter for IATSE Local 829 in television and film.
Through murals, chalk festivals, and community-oriented projects, Lydia is dedicated to bringing color and joy to public spaces.
