Alba was born 51 years ago in Navojoa Sonora, Mexico, and currently lives and works in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
She discovered her love of art at a young age. As a child of 6, she copied Gustav Doré's engravings of The Divine Comedy and Orlando the Furious from her grandmother's books, her first drawing and painting lessons were with an excellent teacher from Nayarit Pedro Casant, who taught her to work with his plastic and colorful technique within figurative expressionism. Later she studied plastic arts in Mexico City in "La Esmeralda" and participated in collective exhibitions. The techniques she has enjoyed the most are mainly pencil drawing, acrylic and chalk pastel. Her works are portraits from photographs or with a model and abstract art.
Alba's encounter with Madonnari art took place 20 years ago at the Bella Via Monterrey Festival organized by Rosy Loyola in 2004. It was love at first sight, she could not attend that first event but the following year she finally participated.
She has studied painting with great masters such as Marcia Salcedo and Esteban Ramos, sculpture with José de la Paz and photography. Since then, she has participated in competitions, sales exhibitions and collective and individual exhibitions at the Marco Museum and cultural centers in different cities, business centers, etc.
Winning prizes at Bella Via has given her the opportunity to travel, meet different cultures and new people who have become good friends. It has opened doors for her to many other festivals such as Grazie de Curtatone in Italy where she will participate for the fourth time this year, in Toulon in France, at Italian Street Painting in California, in Houston at Via Colori for 5 years and more recently in Taurianova on two occasions, Noccera and Brescia in Italy.
For the past 5 years she has worked in talent acquisition for a technology company and she loves being able to do something completely different than art.
28 years ago she married her beloved husband with whom she has 3 children who are now grown up, love art and accompany her on many of her adventures.
